Take advantage of local vacation packages, M’sians told Posted: 20 Feb 2014 07:58 AM PST KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians should take advantage of the holiday packages offered in conjunction with the ongoing Visit Malaysia Year 2014 (VMY2014) and continue having vacations despite the rising cost of living, said a tourism resort developer. "Go on a local holiday. Not only will we experience more places of interests within our very own country but we can also help generate domestic income," said Pekan Artisan Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Saifful Azhar Sabaruddin to Bernama. Pekan Artisan is the developer of two new attractions in Langkawi — Oriental Village and Pulau Intan Besar which would be completed by mid-2015 and slated to be opened in time for the Asean Summit 2015. "We are blessed that our tourism industry is diversified, offering different interests on different budgets to different people. The choice is in their hands," he said. He said despite the rising cost of living, going for holidays was essential to relief stress and "Do research and plan ahead. Have time to compare prices so that you can get the best value for money during the holidays," he said. Saifful Azhar also advised Malaysians to organise their own trips and book direct from airlines rather than joining travel packages, which would cost more. — Bernama |

Alberts buru penyerang Adelaide Posted: 19 Feb 2014 04:20 PM PST KUCHING: Ketua Jurulatih Sarawak Robert Alberts dilaporkan kembali menaruh minat terhadap penyerang kebangsaan Australia Ryan Alan Griffiths.
