Newly launched Maybank2U App to boost online platform transaction value Posted: 08 Sep 2014 01:25 AM PDT KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) expects its newly launched Maybank2u App to boost online platform transaction value by 30 per cent within two years from RM13 billion per month currently. Group president and chief executive officer, Datuk Abdul Farid Alias said at present Maybank has about 45 per cent market share of Internet banking customers in Malaysia and some 53 per cent share of total Internet banking transaction value. Speaking at the launch of the App here today, he said the App was part of the broader strategy to leverage on digital banking to strengthen the bank's reach and to connect better with its customers. The Maybank2u App is a mobile application for smartphones which enables customers to undertake all transactions available through Maybank2u as well as other additional innovative features. RM30 million multi-storey car park in Luyang by 2016 Posted: 08 Sep 2014 01:24 AM PDT KOTA KINABALU: A multi-storey car park, costing about RM30 million, will be built in Foh Sang, Luyang, to address the traffic congestion and hawkers problems in the area, said Urban Welbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan. He said the car park, when completed in 2016, would not only provide about 500 parking bays to over 10,000 residents in the area but also offer convenience for hawkers to run their daily small businesses. "I have spoken to the Kota Kinabalu City Hall Mayor (Datuk Abidin Madingkir) about the proposed project and I am happy to announce that my ministry will be able to help the city hall and local leaders to ensure that the flow of traffic (can be resolved). Abdul Rahman spoke to reporters after having a walkabout in the area as well as well distributing mooncakes to the people here today. According to him, the multi-storey car park would be built on a 30,000 sq ft of open space land in the area, with wet market and hawkers to be placed at ground floor. "Hawkers around Poh Sang will be relocated to the multi-storey car park so the area will be more well-structured," he said. He said his ministry would inform the state government about the proposal and the allocation would be provided in the two-year budget. On the frequent flash flood sin several locations in Kota Kinabalu City Hall area, Abdul Rahman said it needed a lot of money to solve the problem but the government would look into the matter in stages based on priority. – Bernama |
